PRIZE

2011 – Won the Brazilian International Press Award for representing and being an active Brazilian artist representing and promoting Brazilian culture among the UK, with the Pe-de-Jurema band.

DEBUT ALBUM

2020 - Self-Released "Lua Cheia" of Let Drum Beat all female London-Based Afro-Brazilian band.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES 

 

 Music, Teaching, Translations

 

2020-2009 Currently based in London, has been working as a tutor and workshop leader with the organizations Live Music Now, Stretto Music, Create Arts, Beat Goes, On Boppin'Bunnies, Surrey Arts, Creative Learning Barbican, TARU (Transforming Arts, Regenerating Understanding), Nutkhut Company,  EASTSIDE Educational Trust as a music/dance facilitator,  EEA (Emergency Exit Artists), and also in many British Primary and Secondary Schools, in Community Centres and nurseries leading sessions of playing percussion, guitar, ukulele, creative music making, dancing, storytelling.

 

Has been leading workshops on her own and in collaboration with other musicians of integrated arts (music, singing, dance and body percussion) at the Barbican Centre, ELAC Study Vacation, The Roundhouse, with the Afroreggae, Canning House, Siobhan Davies Studio;

 

Performed in several festivals: Alexandra Palace Summer Festival (Ally Pally), Royal Festival Hall - Southbank Centre, Horniman Museum, Bloomsbury Festival at SOAS World Music Stage, City of London Festival, Mela Festival London, Bath Music festival, University of Essex, Southbank Centre at Brazil Festival and Love Exhibition, O2Arena and Trafalgar Square - Brazil Day Festival, Queen Victoria Olympic Park, Edinburgh Women´s Festival and others.

 

2005-2015 Has translated portuguese-english version of articles and documents privately and for Bullseyer Media Company; documentary Earth & Land by Laura Tamiana.

 

2008-2007 Worked as a music teacher in a Bilingual Portuguese/English School Wings to fly for Early Years (2 to 6 years old) in Sao Paulo, developing the music sessions.

 

2006 Led workshops of Body-Percussion and Brazilian rhythms at SienaJazz School of Music in Italy.

 

1997-2004 Took part in social projects at youth centres in Sao Paulo/Brazil, developing workshops of Folk Brazilian rhythms, storytelling and dances with Baque Bolado Cia of Arts for children and adolescents. Worked as a monitor of school groups in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sao Paulo.

Prêmio

2011 - Ganhou o Prêmio Brazilian International Press Award no Paris Hilton Hotel em Londres em reconhecimento ao artista residente no exterior que representa e promove a cultura brasileira no Reino Unido, com a banda de Pé-de-Jurema.

Música, Ensino e Tradução

 

2017-2009 Residente em Londres, atua em escolas Primárias e de Ensino Médio, Companhias Educacionais e Artísticas liderando workshops e aulas de música brasileira, percussão corporal e movimento com Live Music Now, Stretto Music, Surrey Arts, TARU Transforming Arts, Regenerating Understanding, Nutkhut Company, EASTSIDE Educational Trust,  EEA Emergency Exit Arts, além de Centros Culturais Comunitários em Londres.

 

Lidera oficinas de música em colaboração com músicos internacionais (música, canto, dança e percussão corporal) em renomados locais como Barbican Centre, Vacation Study ELAC, The Roundhouse, Colchester University, Canning House Latin Centre.

2005- 2015 - Traduziu teses, abstracts e contratos para Bulseyer Productions - Zodiak Media Company versão inglês-português. Traduziu as legendas do documentario Ceu e Terra de Laura Tamiana.

 

2008-2007 Trabalhou na escola bilíngüe “Wings to fly”  Português/Inglês em São Paulo, ministou aulas de Inglês na Wisard e Kid's Time English for Children e Italiano na União Italiana no Mundo (UIM).

 

2006 Ministrou aulas de português para italianos e oficina de ritmos brasileiros em SienaJazz School of Music, na Itália.

 

1997-2004 Participou em projetos sociais em São Paulo, atuando como assistente em oficinas de ritmos brasileiros, contação de histórias e dança com Baque Bolado Cia de Artes para crianças e adolescentes . Trabalhou como monitor bilíngue no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São Paulo.
